Blake Co., Inc.

This catalog shows some of the products offered by Blake Co. "Rockford Tent And Awning Co." back in 1935.  We no longer offer all of these products like patio furniture and tents.  However, we still can make many of the canvas products.

To put the prices in this catalog in perspective, in 1935 a first class postage stamp was 3 cents, a loaf of bread was 8 cents, gas was 19 cents a gallon, average new car price was $580.00, average wages were $1,500.00 per year, and average cost of a new house was $6,300.00.

Sadly, the Blake Awning building at 404-406 Elm Street shown on the last page was demolished for "urban renewal" in 1971.  I have many fond memories from the 1960's helping my Dad and exploring the building.
